Wollondilly Government Service Building

The new Government Service Building for Wollondilly Shire Council in Picton is a part of the William Ross Architects (WRA) 2020 masterplan for the Wollondilly Cultural, Community and Civic Precinct.

Addressing the Village Green, the four-storey Government Services Building provides a new workplace for Council, supported by a multi-level basement car park. Working with William Ross Architects, Studio STH developed the interiors to incorporate a range of formal and informal, working spaces.

Detailed consultation with Council informed the workplace design, ensuring the facility responds to the organisation’s evolving needs and operational requirements, while creating spaces that support both the Council workforce and the wider community.

The interiors create a friendly and welcoming arrival experience. A curated palette of soft textures complements the generous natural light entering through the façade, facilitating an inviting atmosphere that encourages the community to come in, connect and use the spaces.

As Wollondilly continues to grow, the Government Services Building forms part of a broader vision for a civic precinct that brings government services, community facilities, culture and public space together.
