Wollondilly Government Service Building

Picton, NSW

The new Government Service Building for Wollondilly Shire Council in Picton is due to be completed in 2026 and is based on the William Ross Architects (WRA) 2020 masterplan for the Wollondilly Cultural, Community and Civic Precinct.
Addressing the Village Green, the Government Service building will be a 4-storey new workplace for Council with a multi-level basement carpark. Studio STH is working in collaboration with WRA on the new facility with a range of both form and informal activity-based work settings.

Detailed consultation on workplace design was undertaken with Council to conserve a facility that would meet growth of the organisation and its aspiration to be an attractive and exciting place to work.
The interiors respond to the client’s brief for a friendly and welcoming arrival experience with a curated palette of soft textures helps diffuse the generous natural light that pours through the facade, creating a gentle, inviting atmosphere. The design seamlessly integrates local artwork, adding depth and a meaningful connection to the community.
